Cyl-Tec designed, provided for and installed the entire nine tank cryogenic CO2 beverage system for the new Indiana Colts stadium.
This system can produce 540 pounds of CO2 vapor an hour. This vaporization rate was a crucial issue. The system needed to produce enough vapor for 63 concessions stands to handle the half time surge. The system piping was designed to be able to provide gas to 63 concession stands, with 630 points of sale, with no pressure drops.
In order to accomplish this Cyl-Tec used 1" K copper piping so that the system would be able to store enough vapor. K copper was used because the system is maintained at 200 psi. Another unique feature of the system was that it was "looped" which was vital in order to allow the system to maintain proper pressure at all times.
Cyl-Tec's role with this project was the complete design and sale of the entire CO-2 system, piping and regulation. The involvement began with working with the food service consultant during the design stage.
Cyl-Tec provided technical support throughout the installation of the piping. After this stage Cyl-Tec provided and installed the tank system and the regulators, and finally completed a leak test on the entire system to satisfy the general contractor's requirements with a full one year warranty.
